J. Scott DeMasi

A Phillipsburg native with deep ties to the local community, J. Scott DeMasi is a partner at DeMasi & Williams Law Office on Main Street in downtown Phillipsburg. In 2003, he was selected to serve on the Board of Trustees of the Phillipsburg Downtown Association (PDA).

Through his involvement with the PDA, Mr. DeMasi has supported the organization’s community and business initiatives while maintaining a strong connection to the people and businesses of downtown Phillipsburg.

Education & Bar Admissions

Mr. DeMasi earned his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, in 1983. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey, in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics.

He is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Chad R. Williams

Chad R. Williams was born in Port Jervis, New York, and raised in Milford, Pennsylvania. His interest in becoming an attorney began at an early age and ultimately led him to Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan.

Mr. Williams earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Bloomsburg University in 1990. After working for a year to save for law school, he began his legal education at Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

During law school, Mr. Williams served as President of the Criminal Law Society, founded and edited the student newsletter Carpe Diem, served as a student body official and tutor, and was a member of the Law Review. He also participated in a work-study program with the Ann Arbor Public Defender’s Office. He earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, in December 1994.

Legal Career

Mr. Williams began his legal career in Milford, Pennsylvania, before joining J. Scott DeMasi in Phillipsburg in 1995. He worked as an associate with DeMasi & DeMasi until 1998, when he established his own practice on Hudson Street.

In 2001, Mr. Williams returned to join the firm as a partner, marking the beginning of DeMasi & Williams Law Office.

Mr. Williams handles matters involving Personal Injury, Automobile Accidents, Workers’ Compensation, Real Estate, Family Law, and General Trial Litigation. He is licensed to practice in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
